Love O2O

Calm and nice. This is how I would described Love O2O. Nothing more, nothing less. In the scale of 1-10 I would give it a very solid 5,5. This was my third cdrama and I must admit that after Oh! My Emperor's fiasco I was afraid of Chinese series😬

Luckly it wasn't bad!

What is it about?

Love O2O is divided into 2 worlds – game and real life. In reality Xiao Nai is a gaming expert, who is also the most popular male student at the university. One day, while visiting an internet cafe, he walks by a beautiful girl. However, it was not her beauty that charmed him, but the expert skills of playing RPG game. The girl is Bei WeiWei, the campus goddess and an great game player. The leads meet in online game called “The Chinese Ghost Story” and get married there. Lot a long while later they decide to see each other in real life and of course this is where the love story 😍 of handsome introvert Xiao-Nai and skinny goddess Weiwei begins. Love is developing slowly but steady.

To be honest, there is not much to say about the serie 😅 Even though it has 24 episodes, not much happens there. Unfortunately, the producers did not do their best. The story is interesting and there are numerous options to develop it. There could be much more done with it. It is cute chinese High School Musical Drama 😆 about gamers.

Two other love stories are woven between the slowly developing romance. Together with scenes from "The Chinese Ghost Story" the series happens to be more interesting. Problem is that Love O2O is more meant for teenagers than for adults. It is extremely 💘sweet and innocent💝 and it's even too much at some point. It is saturated with awkward hugs, random kisses and funny heroes' conversations trying to relieve the tension between them (and their bodies because after all they're over 20! <facepalm>). The most brutal action takes place in the game 😂 where characters constantly fight monsters. It is an interesting cutscene in the series, it distracts from its reality. Even if you do not like this type of filming, it is worth focusing on the game because it introduces some important information to the plot.

All in all, serie is not bad. As I said before, I give it 5/10. What annoyed me was the slow-moving action and the lack of more adult emotional interaction between the main characters. Fortunately, there was a story of the couple's enemy that awakened the series. It is light, easy and fun 😊

Referring again to Oh! My Emperor .... In comparison, Love O2O is the essence of genius and sense of taste. Basicly if you want to watch something that will not fully turn your brain off, that's a serie for you. But if you prefer cdrama with more action and plot twists I recommend you Well inntended love. That was my first chinese drama and reallu an amazing choice!
