She and her perfect husband

For the last 2 months I watched several Chinese and Korean productions at the same time, which confirmed my belief that the latter are much more dynamic. She and Her Perfect Husband is another sweet romance with slow development of the characters and the feelings between them. I can't say the drama was bad.... no no no no.... it was very nice but when you watch it together with The Penthouse, it seems to be terribly slow 😅😅 My fault.

I think Qin Shi played by Yang Mi is as great as fictional character as an actress herself. She played her part brilliantly, convincingly and accurately, which made her one of my top Chinese female characters right after Luo Shi Yi Niang (The Sword and the Brocade), Shen Ruo Xin (Rational life) and Zhao Jiang Yue (Why women love).

Who is Qin Shi and who is her perfect husband?

Qin Shi works as a lawyer in one of the best law firms and aspires to be a partner. She is great at what she does, but in order to reach the top position in the company, she had to lie when recruiting. Because what she lacked to meet the mandatory conditions of employment was a husband and a child. She fulfilled the condition by making up a story that Yang Hua works in Canada and the child lives with his sister in Europe where she receives the best education.
Everything was beautiful and idyllic until Yang Hua, whom Qin Shi had never met, shows up at one of the legal events and everyone recognizes him from photoshoped pictures 😂😆😨

Qin Shi's ultra-important promotion and whole laywer's life is threatened as young Yang Hua doesn't think of being married and participating in her drama. But what wouldn't you doto stop mother from nagging about growing up? GET MARRIED! Even if it's just a facade 😉

Qin Shi and Yang Hua, after a quick marriage only for their closest relatives, move into her apartment and play husband and wife until true feelings awaken in them. However, life is not so easy and Qin Shi's ex-fiancé .... and his pretty jealous young new fiancée start working at the same law firm. Great.... 😬

Few words about the characters. There are several main characters and planty of side ones but I will introduce you to just few. Just to those that are important and appear on screen relatively often.

Qin Shi & Yang Hua (played by Yang Mi and Xu Kai respectively) are the main characters of the series and both play very well, but her character is completely beyond his talent. I've already seen Xu Kai in Falling into your smile and his performance is not much different. In both series, he plays a very logical young guy who has no interest in relationships and is totally focused on his life. He needs nothing more than what he has now. I haven't seen Yang Mi yet, but the way she played her character seemed much more natural and pleasing to the eye.

Tao Jun Hui is Qin Shi's ex-fiancé with whom she split up a few years ago. Also a lawyer, like his fiancée Wu Fei. The new fiancée works as an assistant to the previous one and does not know that her beloved was once head over heels in love with the boss. This ignorance causes him to rekindle his feelings for his ex by bringing him to the same law firm. These are the next main characters of the series and I don't like them both. Jun Hui can't decide what he wants, and Fei Fei is spoilt brother. I don't like them together and they're annoying on their own. Weak side characters.

Qin Wen Yu is Qin Shi's brother and the husband of her best friend Ren Mei Mei. It's a character you like and dislike at the same time. He has his sweet moments, but he also has moments when he wants to punch him. He's a spoiled kid and everyone knows it. One would like to say that Mei Mei is his opposite but unfortunately she is also childish. Less than her spouse, because she works well as a manager of the company, but her behavior is still strange.

Last on this list are Tang Yi Hui and Jin Cheng, the bosses of Qin Shi. Yi Hui adores the main character and often calls her little sister. I liked her until she blocked Qin Shi's promotion. Then, gradually, until the end of the series, I liked her less and less. Her husband rarely appears on the show, but I generally liked him. I have the impression that Yi Hui is the one who introduced the obligation to marry and have children as a condition of recruitment. But I'm not sure.

She and her Perfect Husband besides the main female character has also another great woman. Li Dai! 💘 Although at first she wasn't the person I liked - quite the opposite, but the further I went into this series, the more and more she gained. Her dynamic with Qin Shi on friendly foes was brilliant. Even though they were stepping on each other's toes, there was a friendly feeling between them. Too bad she didn't get her own side story because she deserves it. I am curious about this actress in another production, I will definitely look for it!

Considering only the first 20 episodes, I'd give it a good 6,5/10. Well-written script, well-developed story and world, well-chosen characters, variety of characters, divine opening credits, great song at the end and beginning of the series. I couldn't stop watching it and waiting for next episones was taking my sleep off 💖😍 But then something happened and the show lost its spark....

The series became boring and I abandoned it for a while 😬 I would have written this review a few weeks ago because I started watching She and her Perfect Husband before Reborn Rich, Lovestruck in the City and The Penthouse. Unfortunately, it took me a long time to go back and see the last 12 episodes. From the 28th to the 35th episode I watched the series by rewinding and only last 5 I saw as a whole.

The second half of She and her Perfect Husband is 4.5/10, gusting to 5/10. Unfortunately, I'm not made for series over 20/25 episodes per season (and also not over 4 seasons). Even though, they must have a tempo from first to last moment and not to stop mid-way! 😠😖 This is annoying because this is not the first Chinese drama to drastically drop in quality and dynamics in the second half of production.

Summarizing these two ratings, we have a 6/10 and it is a perfect representation of this drama. She and her Perfect Husband has many good sides - starting from actingship and finishing on music. Unfortunately, the final combination of all this into a series was a bit of a letdown. Nonetheless I am recommending this drama to be watched because it has an excelent 👌 story pointing out the place of  women (and their ambition) in the chinese society ❤
