Here We Meet Again

What is going on lately! Every Chinese drama I've started watching in the last 4 months is great! 😍😍 Here We Meet Again has a fantastic story, brilliant leads and great backgrounds! Xiang Yuan and Xu Yan Shi became one of my top couples! 

Here We Meet Again came out in May this year but Hidden Love and When I Fly Towards You somehow managed to jumped in the line before it but I didn't lose intrest in it even for a minute 😁👌 When it was airing I have seen several shorts and reels with random scenes that made me super curious so it didn't take long for me to atack it! 😎😈 ... and love it!

Who are Xiang Yuan and Xu Yan Shi and why they meet again?

Xiang Yuan is the heiress of the Donghe group who doesn't want to get married and tries to avoid going to blind dates at all costs. She makes a bet with her grandfather that if she manages to increase the results of one of the companies by 10% in a year, she will abandon the plan to marry her. 

On the way to Velin Xiang Yuan's company, she meets her heartbreaking high school sweetheart, Xu Yan Shi, in a taxi. The next day, she learns that their relationship will have to undergo a metamorphosis, because Yanshi is now her supervisor.

Xiang Yuan is the opposite of the calm and at first glance cool Xu Yan Shi, a scatterbrained but always kind woman. What they have in common is hidden feelings towards each other and self-confidence.

Where do I start... problem is that Here We Meet Again had such a great storyline, perfectly connected and complete! with amazing side stories, secondary and tertiary characters ... it's so hard to break it all down to details 😏 I'm still breaking whether to give this drama 7,5 or 8 points because I don't know if it's the beauty of the main couple and steamy kissed that attracted me to it or the production as a whole 😆

Nonetheless I couldn't enjoy the drama more! It had 32 episodes and there was not even one I didn't like or was bored with 😍 Whenever there is more than 20 episodes there is a high chance for an unneccesary filler, repeting scenes as memories to show the passage of time etc... Here even though moments like take took place, they were minimal and didn't influence the quality of the show. At many points I could equal the drama to Hidden Love but I hated the fact that they got together as late as about episode 20-21 😫 More than half of the drama Xiang Yuan and Xu Yan Shi were playing tug of war. That really aggrivated me as they were so meant to be together but were falling apart over stupid people&stuff.

When we are at the leads.... They were just excelent. Main actors (Vin Zhang & Qian Wu) did a great job in creating accordingly Yuanyuan & Yanshi. They created not only and amazing characters but also very realistic relationship 😍 She is mature, lifesmart and funny (but not at Sang Zhi, more like and adult which she was❤). He in meantime is playing cold but has a lot of love to give and cares about those around him. He is very inteligent, mature and responsible. His protectiveness towards Yuanyuan is on a completely different level than I've seen in other dramas. He is not despotic, he acts naturally within reason 😇

I wish the main couple got together sooner because they look to amazing together that I wanted to see the more around each other. He made it clear so many times that he wants to be with here that I don't understand why was she avoiding him for briefly. Both ot them were so different from what we are used to seeing in c-dramas that I was angry to have only 32 episodes to enjoy with them 😭😤 THE STEAMY KISSED WERE MY TEMPORARY ADDICTION!

One of the most outstanding aspects of Here We Meet Again is a fantastic character development. The further the story goes, the more we get to know about grounds of misunderstandings between the leads themselves and other people. The gradual unraveling beautifully grasps the complexity of their relation, explains burdens and obstacles in Yuanyuan & Yanshi life that were the reasons why their relation died in the past before it could go further 😍😭 you can easily delve into their train of thought knowing what happened in their lives. This allows you to connect wonderfully with the main characters. So I can't rate this show less than 8/10 🙊

Drama effortlessly and perfectly balances between comedy and romance. It has moments to laugh, cry think and relax. The natural progression from friendship to a love is heartwarming and realistic. I hope more c- and k- dramas will take on this aproach 💜 The feelable chemistry between leads and cute jealousy gave an additional layer to authencity of their relationship! Hot kisses releasing the stress of jealousy and slightly possessive ones were the icing on the cake! 😎😈 Jealousy of partners is often shown in both Chinese and Korean dramas, but here they presented it as a natural human reflex, full of respect and affection. No possessive or crazy reactions nor following your other half 👌

The intensity of their relationship allowed me to lost myself into this drama. This is one of the most mature relationships I've seen in Chinese drama. Many of the previous dramas had quite a lot of sweetness and Japanese kawai in them. Following one review I saw few days ago "The acting skills of the main characters are at an exceptional level because their raw emotions expressed in facial expressions and words will lead to huge sparks in every viewer." They are so captivating that I watched 32 episodes in just 1.5 weeks

To be honest.... not only the leads are captivating.... WHOLE HERE WE MEET AGAIN IS! It left me with such a good impression over cdramas that together with latest Hidden Love they brough back my faith in it. Here We Meet Again has secured a spot among my top Cdramas. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a intense & mature love story with very well developed characters, engaging scenario and chemistry that will keep you glued to the screen from first to last episode.

I appreciate how most of characters has sufficiently explained backgrounds to understad their decisions. Even though it was made just through gossiping all other talks between secondary characters. But what truly sets this show apart from other c-dramas that amazing cocky and strong female lead and warm male lead from a challenging background which is realistic, not at drama-extreme level). The contrast between their lives adds layers and intrigue to the plot. 

Of all the supporting characters and closest friends of the main couple, I liked Gao Leng (Huang De Yi) the least. I don't like this character mainly because of his stupid stubbornness and aggressiveness when least needed. I don't like him at all for the wonderful Chen Shu (Nita Xia), who has class and morals. I would like her to have her own spin off where she finds a guy on her level and ends her relationship with Gao Leng... I think this is one of the veeeeery few minuses of this drama 😅😋

To end this aria about the main couple and how great Here We Meet Again is, I'll just say that I'm not sure if I want to move on to other dramas with them (similarly to Hidden Love leads 🙈). They were so perfect that I want them to marry in real life and stay together forever!
