Reborn Rich - mindblowing plot

No wonder this series was hailed as one of the best series of 2022. Reborn Rich is as brilliant as Alchemy of Souls and is in my top 10. It's a show that shows many sides of humanity from the positive to the more than negative. From the love of a parent for a child to the murderous pursuit of money. The drama keeps you in suspense from the first minutes. Although the first 4 episodes are quite confusing and it's hard to understand what is happening because of the drastic change in the situation of the main character, later the hour-long episodes become too short.

I was sure that after Alchemy of souls, which I fell in love with, I would not be able to find a series that would delight me so much for a long time. And here you go! We have it! Not only is the script magical, the actors are fantastic, but the ending is brilliant. Not to mention the music and interior design which were great too. There is no bad element in this show - only bad characters. And how many!

Whether you've seen it or not, let me tell you what the series is about.

Yoon Hyun Woo is one of the most dedicated employees of the Soonyang family business. He is the direct secretary of the founder's eldest grandson and the successor to the CEO. When the current CEO, the eldest son of the founder, Jin Young-Ki, suffers a heart attack, a dramatic struggle for influence and distribution of shares begins. Hyun Woo is given a secret assignment to liquidate money from his grandfather's newfound secret enterprise. However, he is brutally betrayed in Turkey and murdered on behalf of one of the Jin family members. Falling into the sea and thinking it's over, Hyon Woo miraculously wakes up in a different body. The body of Jin Yang-Cheol's youngest grandson - Jin Do Jun.

It takes him a long time to come to himself and understand what is going on. When he realizes that fate gives him a second chance at life, he decides to find who killed him and destroy the empire of the Jin family. Using knowledge from the future, Jin Do Jun becomes the greatest grandson of an enterprising grandfather who hates bunglers. With saving him from a tragic death, Do Jun starts a fierce fight with his uncle and eldest grandson. Meanwhile, Hyun Woo tries to save his mother and figure out why he had never heard of the family's youngest grandson.

There are many characters in the series, more or less important, but everyone in the Jin family and their immediate surroundings is worth a closer look. I have to admit that the story is so complicated that sometimes I had to rewatch a few scenes or rewind the episode because something didn't sit right in my head. The screenwriters did a great job fixing it! BRAVO!
  • Jin Yang-Cheol is the founder of Soonyang, an ultra-strong businessman who can't stand opposition and loves to win. He created the company from scratch and loves it more than his spoiled children who can't do much in business without his help. He is married to Lee Pil-Ok, who is a total background character that doesn't talk much thoughout in the series. She is considered neutral and kind, even to a child born out of wedlock 😬
  • Jin Young-Ki is the eldest son who manages a large part of the company but is not the smartest. Loves money and his son as they guarantee his good future. His wife is Son Jung-Rae, who comes from a low-influenced family. He and his son, Jin Seong-Jun, should take over his father's business, but Du Jun stands in the way and they do what they can to stop him. To increase his influence, Seong-Jun marries the daughter of a media mogul, Mo Hyeon-Min (who has a crush on Do Jun) 😈
  • Jin Dong-Ki is the most competent of all the siblings he manages a financial branch of the enterprise and as his father said, "he's good with numbers.". He has a wife from a rich family (politics I believe) and a daughter who studies abroad (probably in the US). This couple loves to plot and insult others in an elegant way, but pointing out any mistakes and flaws. Daughter shows up just at the end of the drama but we fast get to know that she learnd to scheme from her parents.
  • Jin Hwa-Young is the founder's only daughter and the wife of politician Choi Chang-Je. Business is not her strong capability but nagging and crying definately is. In her relationship with her father, I think that the fakt that she is a woman doesn't quite suit him. But it also could be because he doesn't like her husband who runs after her like an idiot and gets scared of his own shadow 😑 I don't like almost any woman in this family, and this one is at the top. She is mean and cold.
  • Jin Yoon-Ki is the youngest son of Jin Yang-Cheol and the only one from a different mother. He is raised as equal to his siblings, but his life decisions a.k.a. marriage to actress Lee Hae-In, cut him off the family. He runs a movie distribution company and is the only one with two children - the crazy Jin Hyeong-Jun and Jin Do-Jun, brought from the future. This is the only normal family here that doesn't want to destroy everyone for money.
Of all these characters, the most important are grandfather and youngest grandson - Jin Yang-Cheol & Jin Do-Jun 💜💛 They have an amazing relation based on mutual no-trus, gut feeling in investing and looking for the profit. One got it from life-long work and building the giant enterprise, while the other from reborn and a desire for revenge. These two have such an amazing understanding of each other that I fell in love with them and I think they kinda loved each other too😍 I don't know if it's not too much said but their relationship for me is a kind of "healthy competition", but that is a bit in a conflict with those billions that are lost along the way.. 😅

There is no need to classify the characters in this series because they are all brilliant. The cast is perfectly matched and each of the actors presents the artistry of their work. I can't even imagine secondary characters such as Han Kyung-Hee or Yoon Hyun Woo's mother or Seo Min-Yeong his love interest in both (?) incarnations. I'm not sure of Hyun was just amazed by Min-Yeong or he secretly loved her but as Do Jun he definately had feelings for her 😏 However, I would single out a few characters - of course - the founder of Soonyang, the youngest grandson and the middle son. They are some of the more complex and interesting characters in the series.

The character of Jin Dong-Ki is interesting because he really knew business, but unfortunately he was lost by the desire to follow money and a kind of gossip wife who always wanted to be better than others. He could get out of his situation unscathed but oh well... sorry. As for the actor himself, Jo Han-Chul, this is my 4th series with him and I must admit that I really like him 👏 He can play a sweet lunatic in Cha Cha Cha, a family-loving bankrupt in The Sound of Music, and a money-hungry bastard in Vincenzo. In Reborn Rich has a very similar role to that of Vincenzo but it doesn't take away from his character. He is a good actor and I am happy to see him again 😀 From this series we also have the same main character - Song Joong-Ki. As in Vincenzo, so in Reborn Rich, his character wreaks havoc - but with class. Joong-Ki usually plays fairly masculine characters who place a lot of importance on family, and he always does it brilliantly. This is my 3rd series with him and everyone is highly rated. Another great actor.

Until today, I was convinced that the actor playing Jin Yang-Cheol, that is Lee Sung-Min, I see for the first time, but while writing this review I found information that he plays one of my most liked characters - the elder brother of the king in The King 2 Hearts. With this character in mind, I am even more fascinated by this actor. His portrayal of the head of the Jin family was brilliant, and even though Yang-Cheol wasn't exactly a positive character, I really liked him. Sure, he destroyed a lot of people, but he didn't murder and just pursued his goal unwaveringly.

As I mentioned at the beginning - the series is categorized as one of the best in 2022 for a reason. There is nothing to nibble on. The actors played their roles on top A, the script was just WOOOW, the action of the series is slow at the beginning but then it picks up speed like an old train and at the end it seems to go at the speed of light. Music is subtle but greatly fitted.

Seriously, I cannot find something to nag on here 😆😱🙈🙌 maybe that I missed a little more of romance? Some love action between Do Jun and Min-Yeong? That would be maybe the only thing. But still it was not necessary to make an mazing drama. I don't know if I can give Reborn Rich drama 10/10 ... It feels odd to give such score after recently seen drama failures. 9,5/10 seems more right and more natural 😅 nothing is perfect!

Ok, I'm done here 😁 time to finish The Glory! Review in few days after I digest it.
