She is the one - chinese drama

Since the time of the Olsen sisters and the Sprouse brothers, I don't remember watching any interesting shows with twins in the lead! Drama She is the one took a different look at them and made a unique story. The show was fun to watch but it's a pity that they were not real twins, which I realized only after a few episodes 🙊🙉🙈 I must admit, I was expecting too much from the show from what I read online. It was for me too lovey-dovey and not enough action that could have lift the show from 4/10.

So what did the sisters decided to do?

When Si Ya decides to go into hiding, Yue Yue is forced get married to wealthy CEO instead of her. While Yuan family is looking for a missing twin, Yue Yue tries her best to not to get caught. Posing as her brilliant sister is more complicated and harder that Yue Yue was ever expecting. Wen family is expecting her to be a good asset to their business empire as she is a finantial genius. Unfortunately, she is the complete opposite of her sister.

An athletic and socially educated girl does her best to make up for her intellect. Her sports achievements allow her to use every possible situation to escape from the golden cage that is her new home. Her series of escapes begins at the wedding where the future husband decided to be late. When a car pulls up before the wedding hall, she throws the driver out of the car and drives away unaware that the vehicle is actually carrying Wen Jin Chen. Both husband and wife have never met before, so hiding from each other is relatively easy for them. Each of them pretends to be someone else, but they cannot hide their mutual feelings.

Although the series was long, there is not much to write about it because not much happened. There were many cute and a few cringey scenes, as expected, and some random plot twists. And as I mentioned before - it's a pity, because they could make a really interesting series out of it. It was a typical comedy of mistakes, pretenses and understatements with moments of teenage romance.

Characters where going from immature kids to the world's greatest businessmen in a light speed 💥 This rollercoaster of behavior was a bit hard to digest in the long run. Also - the development of all characters wasn't the smoothest. I was confused and not very impressed with the backstory. Decent acting definately makes the show. Thanks to that and 30 min lenghts drama is light and easy to watch

Coming back to the golden cage from the introduction for a moment - that was perhaps the most irritating aspect of the show! I don't know why the producers insisted that Yue Yue be kept locked in the house by her husband who only visited her under the cover of night. In my opinion, situation was about to finish with Stockholm Syndrome 😩 ... the only thing that was missing was that the characters did not pretend to be someone else. At the same time, the scenes of their meetings were futile and except for the last one, where Jin Chen was recognized, they were completely unnecessary 😕

Unfortunately, I don't have much good to say from the supporting characters because, apart from their acting talent, there was not much good in them. The characters were portrayed very slowly, as were the details of the story. Even after 15 episodes, it was still hard to recognize what the relationships between the characters are and how it would all stick together 😮

I rarely evaluate series so critically, but apart from the interior designs and music, I did not like much about it. I saw it all, hoping that something interesting would eventually happen, that there would be an event that would glue it together and make me say "WOWWWW AND TOTALLY DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!😱😵" but nope, it did not happen 😟
So if you like dramas where you really do not need to focus on what is happening, sure go ahead 😊 But if you are looking for some action and surprises, check out The Glamorous Imperial Concubine or Young Lady And Gentelman 😉
