Forecasting love and weather

Here we are! Another office romance, dramatic break-ups and getting back together 😋💏 But it's not only about that, Forecasting love and weather goes further than love between the leads and speaks about life, work, family and balance between them. When you watch weather forecasts in the TV you never think how did they come up with these predictions, what type of people are behind them nor was it hard to do it. Sure, dramas always exaggerate and stretch reality, but they are also partially based on it, so there is a few millimeters of truth in them 😁

So as you can already notice, what I liked about Forecasting love and weater it's environment - National Weather Center but before I proceed to rate the series, I will briefly describe what exactly it is about (as always😉).

Jin Ha Kyung is an intelligent straight foreward director of Team 2 at Korean Weather Center. Does everything as it should and fiercely keeps her private and professional live separated. Due to that approach she is not most liked in the office and even though her fiance is working with her, there is not much affection between them. Her perfectly organised life is getting destroyed when future husband, Han Ki Joon, cheats on her and marry someone else. In meantime, Weather Center and Team 2 welcomes 2 new employees - briliant old co-worker of Ha-Kyung and extrodinary free spirited Lee Shi Woo who only cares about the weather. These two do not start their acquaintance with a positive attitude, but it changes very quickly and they decide to date in secret from their collegues. The couple find themselves in funny, awkward and complicated situations over and over again. As the weather is unpredictable, so is the love life, right?

Based on what I read before watching, I was sure that combo of Park Min-Young and Song Kang will immediately hooked me in. But unfortunatelly it didn't. It took me almost 10 full episodes to get into the plot and bench watch last 6. In my opinion, the development of history is a bit too slow and while the script goes well with meteorological situations and there are many interesting connections said between nature and our everyday life, there is not enough action in this drama. The moment of the main relationship, the relationship of their former partners falling apart and the upcoming typhoon gives the show the right pace. 

The second thing that didn't suit me in the series was the lack of chemistry between the main characters 😭😭 It a second drama where I see these leads and their previous better-halfs where simply better. Maybe it was intentional, as Ha Kyung should be reseverd, calm and as she said "do everything with moderate amout of feeling", or maybe not. Who knows. All I know is that I couldn't feel any love and affection between Park Min-Young and Song Kang. They seemed to be just frendly to each other.

And now some positive aspects 😁😁

SECONDARY CHARACTERS

All the side characters - ex-s, families, co-workers .... each of them had a soul, a story and were fantastically woven into the series. I love when the drama not only focuses on leads but also shows the lives of other characters, their moments of happiness and sadness and how it affects their relationship with the main characters. Many other viewers complained that leads didn't have much screen time and that other pairs were taking it away. But for me it is an interesting procedure and a bit saving this series. The remaining couples give more movement and action to the drama than Ha Kyung and Shi Woo. Each of the side pairs is material for another drama. There is a lot to say about them, their stories and characters are probably even more interesting than the main characters themselves. If the producers decide to continue the theme of the weather but put one of the other pairs in the center, I will ready to watch 😀

PLOT & ACTORS

Despite not having enough chemistry between the main actors, their roles where well executed and nice to watch. I really liked embedding the story in the Meteorological Center because how many series about food, clothes and marketing can you watch?! 😤 Stories about rebounds are always interesting as they show that there is an afert-breakup life even if your relationship lasted 10 years. Sometimes it's worth taking a risk, putting yourself and your happiness in first place, and parting if that's not what it should be. For content and acting talent, Forecasting love and weather has me on 6,5/10.

To sum up! Despite, the slow development of situations and feelings between the main characters and allowence to the sporadic drifting away into the world of your own thoughts, I rate this show 7/10. As soon as you get the groove (like me) you will want to see the whole thing in one go. The show that doesn't feature leads' enemy but is ultra rich in characters and had unique scenario. It shows the everyday life of normal people and I love it 💚 also .... It is a nice change after Alchemy of Souls 😆
