Flower Of Evil

I came to the poing where I hate myself for my bench watching a drama. I thought W - Two Worlds and Reborn Rich was intense but Flower of Evil shows a completly different level of suspense 😲 When I started this series, all I knew was that it was going to be about a serial killer, a perfect husband with a secret, married to a detective. It was supposed to be a thriller with lots of heart stops. That's all I knew.... but what I eventually got was beyond and above! ❤

But before I dive into the details I will bring up some names. The mysteriously handsome husband is Baek Hee Sung 😈 (Lee Joon Gi) who is a hard-working metal craftsman with a successful studio. He has a beautiful detective wife Cha Ji Won 😍 (Moon Chae Won)  and totally adorable daughter Baek Eun Ha. His ideal world begins to tremble when the case of a serial killer from his hometown returns to the light of day and is carefully analyzed by his wife. Hee Sung does everything including working with the enemy and his negative parents to keep his secrets hidden. He and his wife are equally determined - he to cover up the cases and she to solve them and put the perpetrators in prison.

As Rakuten Viki said it is "a suspenseful game of cat and mouse" which provides an incredible emotional roller coaster.

Moving on to the most important things .... Lee Joon Gi's eyes and lips are something I didn't know I needed in my life 😅 they made this drama! There are many actors who have fantastic facial expressions and brilliantly portray emotions, but what Joon Gi showed was out of this world. His character suffers from emotional dysfunction and he does not feel as any other average person feels. However, thanks to the science of emotions, the study of an expressive wife and gigantic charisma, no one notices. There is some suspicion thrown in by his sister that he has "changed" which could mean that he started to feel? to be able to express his feelins? He definatelly could do so throuh his eyes and lips that could be the show on its own 😎👏 10/10 for him!

Chae Won was a worthy partner for Joon Gi. These two together are I in my top 10 couples because they were so realistic, so true to each other (minus the secrets and lies, I mean emotionaly just 🙈) and created a real strong couple that I won't forget for a long time. Chae Won, although she did not have such a strong character to play as her partner, she still created a unique and amazing character. Her expressiveness was a big contrast to emotionless Joon Gi and I loved the fire-ice interactions. Ice was adorably melting when fire was around 💙 8/10 for him!

One of my favorite types of dramas are those that introduce what happened in the past outside of the mainstream content. These are shows that have to contend with my bench watching habit as I cannot resist them and must see what the plot holds. 10/10 for this!

The following 3 photos show the characters directly affecting the main couple (negatively and positively) but I won't say who they are because discovering that would take away the tension of the drama.

This drama honestly drove me crazy. These are the actors that I made for suspensefull dramas. Before I met only Kim Ji Hoon at Love to Hate You and Nam Ki Ae at recently seen Sell Your Haunted House  and must say that they both fit the dark dramas better than sweet ones - especially Ji Hoon! My God! He was excellent here! 😱 I could see him in other roles, but Joon Gi and Chae Won will have to wait quite a long time before I decide to see them somewhere else. They are such a perfect couple for me and their reality in this drama is fantastic and I don't want to spoil this illusion for now 😇

Back to why I hate myself for bench watching.... because I finished the show in 3 days when I should have saved it. Fortuanately/unfortunately Flower of Evil was as addictive as a pack of paprika flavoured Lay's - ABSOLUTELY IRRESISTABLE

What I loved in Flower of Evil ?
  • Love between the leads
  • Greately developed characters with a good back ground
  • Neat script (I couldn't see any plot holes!)
  • Story keeps you glued to fauteil till the end
  • Great background music
Unforgettable. Brilliant. Addictive. Exhilarating. On the edge of my seat. Breathtaking. Worth strong 9/10 points and place in me top 10 that will move out Hometown Cha Cha Cha.  Every episode in this drama is filled with mind-twisters that will keep you intrigued. Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won’s chemistry together with a suspenseful storyline won't let you give up on this drama.

There is only one thing I was angry about and didn't like - the amnesia motive. But after all it is a Korean drama no? 😅 Amnesia must be! If it wasn't for that, the series would have been 9.5/10, but yeah... sorry producers, that wasn't neccessary here. These two went through too much already 😒

Enjoy Flower of Evil on Netflix and Viki but try to not bench watch it 🙈 it's too good for that!
