Perfect Marriage Revenge

This was THE dramas of this year! 😎 ... or at least one of the TOP 4! The first episode already showed that this was going to be something strong and I'm amazed that they managed to maintain the pace and quality until the very end. Perfect Marriage Revenge is brilliant and equal in my eyes to The Glory, W - Two Worlds i The Last Empress. 

What is this master piece about?

Han Yi Joo is a shy lady who wants to please her both families. He adoptive father Hanwool Financial Group and adoptive mother with younger sister an art gallery. Yi Joo was not loved by her family and was alwats isoleted from them. To be closer she even became a painter. A series of unfortunate events lead to her fatal accident, but not to her death. 

She suddenly wakes up 1 year before this event, on a day when she suppose to choose her wedding dress. Feeling that fate has given her a second chance and knowing that her future husband loves her sister, she decides to set her life anew. She breaks off her engagement to Jung Se Hyeok, approaches Seo Do Guk, whom her younger sister Han Yoo Ra wants to marry and declares war on all those who have tormented her for years.

I'll start with the cast because it's amazing. Sung Hoon outdid himself in this role, Jung Yoo Min became my favorite along with her stepmother Lee Min Young 😎😎 I only know Lee Min Young from the character of a lovely woman in Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce). And here she played such a terrifying and terrible person that it was hard for me to imagine it until the very end. Her angelic face really hid the devil this time!

Those who watched Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce may be surprised how many similarities we have here from this series! Starting with Sung Hoon who plays the leading role and his TV father Kim Eung Soo (father x2), Lee Min Young moved from the role of lover to the role of mother-in-law, Jeon Noh Min from the role of friend to the role of father-in-law. Plus! In the last season of Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) Kang Shin Hyo replaces Sung Hoon and plays his character in the last episodes..... Even the leading players in design and music are similar haha They didn't show off here. BUT! This did not negatively affect my feelings about this drama in any way. I adored Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) from the very beginning to the end of season 3... and if Perfect Marriage Revenge had seasons in this style, I would watch it with bated breath 😍😍

Another familiar face appeared in the drama - Jin Ji-hee from The Penthouse. She played a similarly nasty character in both dramas and unfortunately... I must admit it suits her? Is she doing well? It's strange to write such a comment, but the role of a b***h suits her 😆

Moving on to the plot of the drama. It was something new with a twist of the story of Cinderella biting back at her stepmother and sisters for years of bullying 😈 I didn't like Han Yi Joo's character at first, but I started this drama for Sung Hoon and I stayed for him. Yi Joo evolved in a very good direction and from episode 3 I was already sold on these two. I LOVED the chemistry between Do Guk and Yi Joo. They made an excellent couple out of excellent actors. You could literally feel every emotion from and between them 😎 Not too much facial expression, it was there when we needed it. The ending was very pink, which I am not fun of. BUT! It suited the story. Yi Joo suffered much before and pink ending was earned. 

The script itself is a total bomb. What’s better than a contractual time travel romance with mystery, revenge and lots and lots of drama? Maybe a pinch of magic or some demons? :D But even without that, there's a lot going on here. And although a lot is happening, the drama is well crafted. All 12 episodes had a perfectly balanced pace. The producers slowly revealed the truth with us, adding twists every now and then 😵

In overall it was a piece of addictive drama where I love how everything is created from the little moments and how everything has a reason. I know this show is the most original but it has a very very strong story and an outstanding execution. Every relation stand out so as does the drama itself. Perfect Marriage Revenge was worth every second of watching 💘
